Arts and Photography

Mount Arapiles is visually stunning, both in early morning and late afternoon.
In fact at any time of the day, you will find a special view to photograph or paint.

From the top, the views of the surrounding plains are breathtaking, whilst the summit also has its own wildflower scenery.

From the base, a painting of the rock, including the climbers, will both test and reward the novice or professional.

Smaller boulders and cliffs mix light and shade into a contrast and the colours add to any canvass.

Try views from the south near the Natimuk Golf Course, or from the North and West from Mitre Rock. This just adds to the many options.

Remember that the yellow canola comes out in late September and early October yearly and add something special to the shoot.

In fact the Mount has been used for a number of television commercials as well as for some scenes in feature films.

Nearby Natimuk also has an artistic charm all of its own and the heritage buildings add character to any painting or photograph.
