PLANNING AN EVENT
Horsham Rural City Council approves an annual Tourism Events and Festival budget allocation for marketing sponsorship. This sponsorship allocation is made to the Tourism Advisory Committee under a Section 86 Delegation.
Council is committed to supporting tourism within the Horsham Rural City Council Municipality and recognises the value of events and festival to the tourism industry and the Region's wider economy. Major events can provide an economic injection into the community by increasing visitation to the region, increasing awareness of the region, reducing seasonality gaps and engendering community spirit and pride.
Horsham Rural City Counci encourages events to grow an to become self-sustaining. Events and Festivals that are unique to this area and build on local features, products, environments and Councils strategic directions are encouraged.
